Success for Arvon tutors in 2011 Costa Book Awards
Congratulations to Arvon tutor Andrew Miller for winning the 2011 Costa Book of the Year Award for his novel Pure. Miller's excellent historical novel vividly captures the atmosphere of Pre-revolutionary France, following a young engineer tasked with clearing a Parisian cemetery.
Andrew will be tutoring the Fiction course at Lumb Bank with Jenn Ashwoth in June 2012.
Arvon tutor Matthew Hollis and Arvon Patron and Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy were also successful in the awards's categoies. Poet and debut biographer Matthew Hollis, won the Costa Biography Award for his first work of prose, Now All Roads Leads to France: The Last Years of Edward Thomas. Carol Ann Duffy won the Poetry category for her latest collection The Bees. CArol Ann Duffy is tutoring the Advanced Poetry course at Moniack Mhor in July 2012.
