As a writer you are free” said Ursula le Guin. This course is for beginners, but not for wimps. Be warned, it will set your imagination free, cause you to write words. We’ll demonstrate the basics of craft in fiction; entice you into the mysteries and wonders of poetry. There’ll be workshops, tutorials, readings, and you’ll leave with your astonishing poems and stories.

Lemn Sissay is the author of five poetry collections, a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live and currently Artist in Residence at The South Bank Centre.
Monique Roffey's second novel, The White Woman on the Green Bicycle was short-listed for the Orange Prize 2010. Her memoir With the Kisses of his Mouth will be published in June 2011. She teaches creative writing for Arvon, The Writer's Lab, Skyros and is a guest tutor on the MA in Creative Wrting at Goldsmiths.
