Being true to the story
All books draw on true experiences, artfully transferred to the page for the purposes of fiction and non-fiction alike. This course shows how to research and write about real life in a way that engages and entertains the reader. We shall look at various genres, including reportage, poetry, memoir, biography and fiction.
The guest for this course is John Lanchester whose books include The Debt to Pleasure (Picador) and Mr Phillips (Faber and Faber).
