The Further Reaches
Abandoning the safe middle ground that even good poems too often stand on, this course is for more experienced writers who wish to explore the further reaches, courting complexity or braving simplicity, while digging deeper into an impulse to see how a poem-in-progress might surprise and develop. Please send three poems with your booking form to the Hurst by July 2nd 2008. Participants will be selected.
This course may not be booked online because it is Advanced and requires you to submit some of your writing. We only cash your cheque or take the £150 deposit off your card if you are Selected.

Mimi Khalvati has published six collections with Carcanet Press. Her most recent, The Meanest Flower, is a PBS Recommendation. She is the founder of The Poetry School and received a Cholmondeley award in 2006. Visit www.mimikhalvati.co.uk.
Fiona Sampson is a poet, academic and translator. Her work includes: Folding The Real and The Distance Between Us (both Seren). She is a specialist in the writing of Eastern Europe and the Editor of Orient Express.
CK Williams’s books have won many awards. His Collected Poems (Bloodaxe Books) appeared in 2006. He teaches at Princeton University.
