Structuring the big idea
How do you structure this big idea? Who is telling your story? In this course we will examine what you want to write and how you want to write it. We will look at character, plot, place and dialogue via in-class exercises. The focus will be on your writing, fun, and discovering something fresh and new.

Alex Wheatle is the author of six novels including Brixton Rock (Black Amber Books), Island Songs (Allison & Busby), East of Acre Lane and The Seven Sisters (both Fourth Estate). The Dirty South (Serpent's Tail) is published in 2008.
Tiffany Murray's first novel Happy Accidents (Fourth Estate) was shortlisted for the Wodehouse Everyman Bollinger prize for fiction. Her second novel Diamond Star Halo is published in 2008. She is a lecturer at the University of Gloucestershire.
