Our People

Peter Salmon

Peter Salmon has been involved in promoting literature for many years, as a writer, bookseller, events co-ordinator and publisher. He and his co-director Kerry Watson ran spoken word events in Melbourne, Australia for many years, published a book together in 2005, and very, very bizarrely wrote for the telly on a show reviewed as ‘universally loathed’.

His main background is as a bookseller at Australia’s premier independent bookseller Readings, where he produced a monthly newsletter and organised the weekly booze-up. He has written for radio and for magazines, and has an unfinished novel hanging around his neck like an albatross. He, Kerry, and their beautiful, beautiful daughter Pearl came to England at the start of 2006 with a view to pulling beers around Europe for a year, only to accidentally end up getting a job at Arvon. They love it, and look forward to seeing you at The Hurst soon.
