The Princess Royal Carers Trust
The Princess Royal Trust for Carers is the largest provider of comprehensive carers support services in the UK.  The Trust currently provides quality information, advice and support services to almost 310,000 carers, including over 15,500 young carers.

In 2006/7, Princess Royal Trust for Carers brought a young carers group from Moray to The Arvon Foundation. For most of these young people this was the first time they were away from home and their responsibilities. They created their own moving anthology of prose and poetry about their experiences.

The Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture
Arvon tutors last year and this year will be working with members of the Foundation's Write to Life Programme over the course of a residential week led by published writers to produce an anthology of new work. In 2007, they collated an anthology called The Human Heart. One of the writers, Jade Amoli-Jackson, who went on to win the first decibel Penguin prize in 2007 for new writing by people of colour.

Writing Groups

Sable Magazine
This is a well established partnership put together by Sable, a magazine for writers of colour. A dynamic team of black and Asian tutors work on poetry, prose and playwriting with a group of Sable readers. They are visiting us again in 2008.

The Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 Popular Science Writing - Twelve established scientists and journalists who wanted to write popular science books were paired with the novelist Jim Crace and prolific science writer John Gribbin for a week of writing.
