The structure and content of Arvon courses has been developed over 40 years to provide a sublime mix of professional guidance and space for personal creativity within a rich rural environment where students live and work together as part of a tightly-knit group.
We encourage teachers to discuss with us their needs and aims for their week. We can provide support in varying the structure of the week to meet your group’s needs and in finding the most suitable writers to be your tutors.
For schools weeks we have done everything from Writing for Radio, Scriptwriting, Spoken Word and Performance courses to Poetry and Fiction. We are open to your inspiration and input - so if you have ideas of what kind of writing you would like to explore then let us know.
We also have new ideas too. So new for 2008, the Arvon Foundation is working with schools on an innovative Football Writing project in partnership with The Football Foundation for the next three years. Email youngpeople@arvonfoundation.org to find out more.
All the centre directors will be happy to talk about your aims and objectives and seek writers who will complement your ideas.
