Ali Smith’s first collection, Free Love and Other Stories (Virago) won the Saltire First Book of the Year award, and a Scottish Arts Council award. Her most recent collection is The Whole Story and Other Stories (Granta). Her novel Hotel World (Penguin) won the Man Booker prize.
